The honest version of an "AI top-50." We ran an AI sweep of public One Piece TCG chatter — price guides, YouTube, Reddit — then did the part the AI couldn't: we threw out the invented "attention scores," kept only what's sourced and identity-verified, and flagged what we can't confirm. No fabricated 0–100 metrics. If we can't stand behind a number, it isn't here.
This is observational market commentary — not financial advice, and not a buy list. Attention is not a verdict; see the dated calls for that.
The two clusters everything orbits
Across the public sources, collector attention concentrates in two places:
- OP09 manga rares & alt-arts — Gol D. Roger, Shanks, Marshall D. Teach, Buggy. High-end, collector-driven, low competitive relevance.
- OP13 anniversary / "red manga" cards — the Luffy / Ace / Sabo trio, driven by anniversary novelty and grading hype.
Identity-verified (in our catalog)
These resolve to a known card by number, so we'll name them precisely. Prices are figures circulating in public coverage — directional, not our verified comps:

The OP09 cluster — real cards, figures we can't yet verify
These are genuine cards but sit outside our verified catalog snapshot, so treat the numbers as public-coverage directional, not TCGIntel comps:
- Gol D. Roger (OP09 manga secret rare) — ~$3,900 cited. Pirate-King iconography keeps it central.
- Shanks / Marshall D. Teach / Buggy (OP09 alt-arts) — ~$940–970 cited each. Character-popularity chases, little gameplay utility.
What we couldn't verify (and won't pretend to)
The honest gaps, because pretending is the thing we don't do:
- No reliable cross-platform frequency. "Discussion velocity" numbers floating around AI lists are invented — there's no clean way to measure Reddit/X/Discord/Facebook mention-rates from public tools, so we don't publish a fake one.
- EB02-010 is an identity tangle. It gets listed as a "$973 Manga Rare," but the number also maps to a retail Anime-25th Luffy and a playmat-promo Leader. One number, three claims — exactly why we gate every card by identity before we quote it.
- "OP05 / OP01?" ambiguity. Some lists cite a high-priced Luffy alt-art with a literal question mark on the set. If we can't pin the card, it doesn't get a price.
Our take
The cards everyone lists — the $24k slabs, the OP09 grails — are commodity information. Every price-guide blog has them, which is exactly why a list of expensive cards is worth nothing as an edge. The edge is being early and on the record: a dated, disclosed call before the move, like the ones we publish. Use the grading-EV calculator before chasing any slab, and read attention as interest, never as value.
