Desirability profile
Why the card is desirable — collectibility vs competitive use. This is a rating, not a price: the fair value above is set only by real comps.
The thesis — why it may be mispriced
The Gol D. Roger Manga Rare — the comic-panel 'Gold Manga' from OP09 Emperors in the New World, and one of the game's crown-jewel chase cards. Same OP09-118 number as the ~$30 base Roger, but it trades ~$4,000 raw and ~$6,900 PSA 10: the manga parallel is doing over 100× the base card.
- The marquee chase: a comic-panel manga rare of the Pirate King — the most prized parallel style in One Piece TCG, from a landmark set. A candidate to become a permanent 'grail' piece.
- The trap number: OP09-118 also covers a ~$30 base, a ~$95 alt-art and a ~$190 'WANTED / DEAD OR ALIVE' poster print. Pricing 'OP09-118' off one number is meaningless — match the exact treatment.
- Real liquidity, not a thin market: ~19 raw sales in a recent eBay window ($2,460–$5,500, median ~$4,000); PSA 10 clears ~$6,250–$8,450. Deep sold history at four figures is itself a bullish signal.
- Fixed supply: very low manga-rare pull rate and OP09 out of active print — effective supply can't grow, unless graded-10 population expands over time.
- Falsifiable thesis: appreciation holds only while (1) effective supply stays fixed, (2) Roger demand stays strong, (3) the OP TCG market stays healthy, and (4) liquidity holds at these levels. Break one and the thesis breaks.
Biggest risk: A top-of-market four-figure card is exposed to broad TCG sentiment — a cooling or 'bubble' correction hits chase cards hardest and fastest, and thin high-ticket markets exaggerate both rallies and crashes. PSA 10 population can also expand for years as people grade old raw copies, quietly lifting effective supply and capping the ceiling. PSA 10 comps carry wild outliers ($26k+ appeared in the data) that must be excluded before pricing, and the same serial spans $30→$8,000 — a mis-identified listing is an expensive mistake. Recent momentum is real but is not itself the thesis; anchor to whether the four conditions still hold.

- PSA population stays flat (scarcity holds)
Revise lower if
- A reprint or a new serialized run is announced
- PSA population grows materially (scarcity erodes)
The ledger — permanent & accountable
