Verdict — Luffy won the WT100 with 2,378,519 points and gets an Oda-drawn, all-colour Leader in Summer 2027. The hype is real. The card is not buyable, has no serial, and — on every precedent we have — the Leader that ships inside a themed deck is the cheap card in the product, not the expensive one. Our pre-market read: the base Leader lands ~$8–20 if the deck is a normal retail release, ~$40–100 if it's a Premium Bandai lottery. The money, if there is any, will be in a parallel that has not been announced.
The short answer: WT100 is the 2nd Global ONE PIECE Character Popularity Poll. Voting ran 4 March – 11 June 2026, and the results were announced at ONE PIECE DAY '26 on 22–23 August 2026. Monkey D. Luffy won with 2,378,519 points. His reward is a new Leader card in the ONE PIECE Card Game, scheduled for Summer 2027, using a newly drawn Eiichiro Oda illustration — the crowned, throned Luffy that became the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump #39, on sale 24 August 2026. As of 26 August 2026 the card has no card number, is not on the official card list, and cannot be bought at any price. Everything below separates what is confirmed from what people are already guessing.

The two Luffys everyone is mixing up right now
Two different Monkey D. Luffy cards were put in front of collectors in the same 72 hours, and they are being discussed as if they were versions of each other. They are not. They share nothing but the character.

If someone offers to sell you "the WT100 Luffy" today, they cannot deliver it. No copy of that card has been printed, distributed, or graded. The only WT100 thing you can actually buy in August 2026 is Weekly Shonen Jump issue 39 — the magazine whose cover carries the artwork. It contains no card.
What is actually confirmed

One precision most coverage is getting loose
You will read "all 50 top characters get Leader cards." The official English page is narrower than that. Under the REWARD TOP 50 heading it says exactly: "Scheduled to be released as a Leader Card in Summer 2027! Other top WT100 characters will also be turned into cards one after another." The Japanese page says the same thing.
What is confirmed: the Top 50 tier's reward is card-isation, one Leader card has been revealed (Luffy's), and more top-ranked WT100 characters are coming. What is not confirmed: that each of the 50 individually gets a Leader, that they all arrive in Summer 2027, or that they all ship in the same product. Treat "50 Leaders" as a reasonable expectation, not a fact — and be sceptical of anyone pricing a card off it.
And one thing that is definitely not confirmed
There is no announced parallel, alt-art, SP, manga rare, or promo version of the WT100 Luffy. One design has been revealed. As of 26 August 2026 the card also does not appear on the official ONE PIECE Card Game site at all — not in the news feed, not in the card list. Every "WT100 Luffy parallel" you see referenced is speculation.

This is the list that matters for anyone trying to get ahead of the wave. Ranks 1–10 carry published point totals; below that the official site publishes rank only.

Note rank 45: Going Merry — a ship, ahead of Bonney, Kizaru and Enel. If the card-isation really does run to 50, that is the single strangest and most collectible card in the queue, and it is the one nobody is talking about.
Our First Read — and why we are not chasing this one
Here is the uncomfortable arithmetic. Look at what actually happened to every recent "landmark Luffy," using our own graded records:

The pattern is not subtle. Scarcity of distribution sets the price, not significance of the card. An event-gated promo ($450) and a mass-printed anniversary card ($25) can celebrate the same character in the same year. And the mechanical novelty everyone is excited about — an all-colour Luffy Leader — already exists in this game and trades for about six dollars.
So the whole valuation turns on one unanswered question: how will the WT100 deck be distributed? That is not known. Bandai has said "a WT100-themed deck," and nothing about print run, price, region or allocation.
Our dated call, 26 August 2026, to be graded after the Summer 2027 release:

- Conviction: Low-to-Medium. The event is certain; the distribution — the only variable that sets the price — is entirely unknown, and it is ten months out.
- What would move us up: a lottery/limited announcement, a confirmed low-print parallel, or the WT100 deck turning out to be tournament-legal in a way that makes the Leader playable rather than decorative.
- What would move us down: a general retail release with a printed-to-demand run — the P-159 outcome, which is our own most public miss.
The deck restriction is a tell
Read the rule text again: you cannot include cards without the {WT100} type in your deck. That is a self-contained, closed format. A Leader that can only be built with cards from its own themed product is very unlikely to become a competitive staple; it is designed to be a celebration piece, played in a sealed ecosystem. Historically in this game, cards that are collected rather than played are priced by supply, not by demand from players. That argues for the lower end of our band unless the supply is deliberately restricted.
How not to get burned between now and Summer 2027
- Nothing is buyable. There is no WT100 Luffy on the market. Any listing claiming otherwise is selling a preorder for an unannounced product, a proxy/custom, or the Jump magazine.
- The magazine is not the card. Weekly Shonen Jump #39 (24 Aug 2026) carries the cover artwork. It does not contain a promo card. The Jump issue that did include a Luffy card this year was #33 (13 July), and that card is P-159 — a different card, currently ~$25.
- Do not pay for a card number. No serial has been assigned. Anyone quoting "WT100-001" invented it.
- Wait for the distribution announcement. It is the only fact that will actually move the price, and it hasn't been made. Buying conviction before that is buying a coin flip at a premium.

We will grade this read after the Summer 2027 release and log it — right or wrong — in our public track record. That is the point of a First Read: anyone can post a hot take ten months early; almost nobody goes back and scores it.
